I was having problems with running a particular server. After a while I was not able to figure out what the problem was, so I started searching on the web. I came across a site which required me to register before I could search through its resources. So I did. I was choosing a random password, nothing remotely close to my usual set of passwords nor something that made sense to me. So thinking that I was just making up a word I typed in metis as my chosen password. Out of curiosity I decided to look up the word. I wanted to know if it actually existed and if it did, what it meant.
Well it was an actual word and below is its definition according to Encarta’s dictionary:
Canadian of mixed descent: in Canada, somebody of mixed aboriginal and European, especially French-Canadian, descent who is now defined by the Canadian Constitution Act of 1982 as an aboriginal person
Now that is funny! 😀
